I awaken in a laboratory.
I don’t know who I am.
I’m inexplicably drawn to the doctor who cares for me. She tells me I’ve been altered, that I’m stronger and faster, that I’ll be a key component in a war between corporations. She says I volunteered for this. She says I volunteered to be transformed, but I have no way of knowing if what she says is true.
Something isn’t right. My memories have been taken, wiped clean, but dreams begin to slip into my conscious mind. I can’t let anyone know when that happens, or they’ll remove my memories again. Somewhere inside of me, I know I need to remember something important.
I’m fighting a war I don’t understand, and the one woman I rely on can’t be trusted.

Galen is a genetically enhanced super solider and Riley is his doctor/handler
Galen was created to help fight a “war” he was told he volunteered for the program but he knows something is not right.
Riley is a doctor/scientist assigned to Galen. Due to the drugs she gives him he is compelled to protect her, obey her etc etc etc.
The drug Galen is injected with not only causes aggression but also strong sexual drive. He can’t stop thinking aboit bedding Riley and yes eventually they get it on. The sex scenes were ok. But I felt needed more umpf.
Galen starts to become aware and whilst out on his first mission gets captured. Being off the drugs is slowly killing him, but also giving him back his memories making him question what’s happening.
The story is fast paced and has some twists. I really didn’t like the ending. This is the first story I have read which ended where it started. I was like wtf! Was that it? It was a real lazy ending. I felt kind of deflated. I had stayed up all night to finish it and got no lasting satisfaction from it. Just the feeling of “Oh ok it’s ended” but I did enjoy the story.
