On a moonless Navajo night, the recessed Bengal Breed known only as Judd became Cullen Maverick, grandson to one of the Chiefs of the Six Tribes of the Native Americans.
Bengal genetics, usually so fierce as to be labeled primal, was recessed so deep inside Judd that no hint of it can be found. A phenomena so rare it’s been notated only a few times. And there’s no way, it’s believed, to force those genetics free once they’ve disappeared past the genetic level.
Now, as commander of the Navajo Covert Law Enforcement Division in Window Rock, New Mexico, Cullen leads his six agents in protecting the treasures of the Navajo Tribes by ensuring they remain safely in Navajo possession.
Added to this mix is none other than the delicate Window Rock police detective determined to stick her pretty little nose in his business.
And once Cullen realized the animosity that keeps flaming between them is far more than he imagined, then the Primal Breed that’s lurked inside him comes out to play. And when that beast decides to make itself known, Cullen suddenly remembers all the reasons it was better off sleeping. (
It’s been so long since i have had the pleasure of reading one of Lora Leigh’s Breeds books i’d forgotten just how much i loved them.
Chelsea is fed up with being blocked at every turn. Cullen wont allow her to be the woman she is meant to be. The woman she has trained to be since she was 16 years old.
All he wants is for her to do his filing. Where she will be safe and protected in the office.
All she ever wanted was to be able to stand by his side in everything. She has loved him from the first moment she saw him. But unless he can accept her for who she is then she will walk away from the love she has for him.
Cullen aka Judd has been happily plodding along for the last 4 yrs until one day Chelsea hands him her resignation. He thinks shes just joking and will be back in a short while.
Cullen’s Breed Genetics are recessed. But he finds out the hard way that when the animal within wants it’s mate and that mate is walking away, then it will fight and rise to the surface with a vengeance to claim and protect her.
As expected this was non stop from first page till last and oh what an ending it was too.
Lots have been complaining that the series is on book 31 and still no Cassie’s book.
I am sure many will feel that the series for them, will end with Cassie. Most, like me, are expecting something epic for Cassie’s book. So in order for it to live up to what we’re all expecting from it. I am happy for it not to be rushed into.
After reading this. Wow some nice unexpected surprises I feel there is so much more to come within the pages of the Breeds.
Please don’t make me wait almost 2 years for the next book.
